If This is What Romney Says in Private, He Definitely Gets My Vote

Maybe Romney was actually a closet Conservative when he was in Massachusetts. Anyway check out his comments at a private fundraiser:

  2. Ah, I am so sick of hearing about the "47 percent" who "don't pay (income) taxes"! Here's the truth that BOTH parties need to realize: how much useful income do low-income workers (such as myself) lose because the government FORCES them to "save" for their retirement and makes a mess out of socializing medical costs? 10% a year - not negligible at all. Time to means test social security (and don't complain about it, if the Baby Boomers hadn't aborted their children there might be enough), phase out social security, and turn the Medicaid/Medicare monster inside out!

  3. UK Desk, I understand your complaints. I remember when I was just out of college and Uncle Sam was taking a big percentage out of my entry level paycheck despite the fact that I really wasnt getting any services from the Government. I even had to pay $300 a year property tax on my leased car in California (which I still think is unbelievable). I think we need to drastically reform entitlements so we will actually see some of the services we are prepaying for.

That said, I dont think anyone sees anything wrong with certain people not paying taxes, its the fact that it is 47% is the issue. This same stat was 34.1% in 2000 and just 12% in 1970!
